At Rad Rubber Design, we are always researching ways to improve and innovate the material and design of our products. We currently use 3/32″ – 1/8″ neoprene sheet rubber, 60-70 Duro(durometer) and have found its composition has many great properties, such as resistance to UV, heat, gas, oil and most chemicals. Not to mention, we don’t just cookie-cut the factory guards, we customize the shape and size of our guards to provide the best coverage possible.

Rad Rubber Design started in 2014 when FJ Fender Flaps were created to get rid of the annoying tire rub on my 2012 FJ. Then came replacement engine splash guards for the FJ… and we now have become the premier supplier for aftermarket engine splash guards for Toyota/Lexus trucks & SUVs.

We hand-cut, inspect and guarantee every product… we use Neoprene Rubber, 60 Duro, whose natural properties are its strength and resistance to gas, oils and most chemicals.

Where it all Started?
Rad Rubber Design actually started with FJ Fender Flaps. FJ Fender Flaps were designed specifically for the FJ Cruiser wheel well. The company started as a result of my getting new wheels and tires on my 2012 FJ. I had a 3″ lift but there still was a front tire scrape when making hard sharp turns. It wasn’t bad but it was enough to get me to look and see if I could eliminate the scraping. What I found was that the problem area was specifically a section of the inside of the factory mud flaps that extended in towards the tire.
